Sad to report a very poor experience. I ordered a 'Telephone Box' display cabinet for my office on 1st June (for, an not inconsiderable £464.99), having spoken to them and been advised they had one in stock. The item arrived on 27th June. On opening the first (of two) boxes, the first think I noticed was huge quantities of 'MDF' dust. As I took the components out of the box however, I was shocked at the quality. The inside of the top of the 'telephone box' was covered with white mould. There were chips and marks which had clearly been there prior to paint. Additionally, there was paint overspray - red paint on white areas! The base was seriously damaged - broken but again pre-paint and there were chips and nicks, all pre-paint on the base and shelves. I called Homesdirect365 within a few minutes of the driver leaving to report this and was told I needed to e mail in with photos, which I did, requesting the collection of the item and a refund. I then received an e mail advising that they could collect and replace the item mid August. I advised that this was not acceptable. I wanted it collecting immediately and refunding. I received another e mail advising that Customer Care would be in contact to 'go through this' with me within 24 hours. I received another e mail again advising that collection would be arranged 'on the next available delivery date' and a replacement delivered once they had received stock. I advised that this was not acceptable and that I wanted it collecting and refunding - also advising that the Distance Selling Regulations entitled me to reject and have a full refund. Eventually, they offered me a collection date two weeks hence, and will 'start' the refund process once they have it back. This is totally unacceptable. They are only 10 miles or so from where I live so must have vans passing regularly - and I don't recall them saying I could start the payment process once I had received the goods. It is clear there is no quality control. They are obviously just getting items in and sending them out unchecked. It is also clear that there is no customer service and they seem hell bent on keeping my money for as long as possible. Steer clear of these guys!
