I bought my first hoselink reel about 6 years ago and have never had a problem with it. Other brand named reels have failed one way or another and are gradually being replaced. We now have 3 Hoselink reels on our small hobby farm and expect to replace the remaining 2 non-Hoselink reels this year.
Yes, they cost more than your standard run of the mill reels, but once installed you never have to fight with them or replace them.
