They misrepresented their so-called deposit. It’s not a deposit, it’s a finders fee.
I paid them the “deposit” for a hostel, and later when the hotel wasn’t able to withdraw the full remaining amount, due to my back not recognizing the international activity, my room booking was cancelled.
A deposit is supposed to hold a booking, they did not hold the booking for me therefore by definition it’s not a deposit.
I explained this to them and they said sorry it’s Jon-refundable and basically playing dumb. I felt like the customer service rep was ignoring me over email because it would take her a week to reply to simple questions.
Then they put a credit on my account but I can’t use it the full amount all at once, I can only use the amount for future deposits and it would be 15-20% of the amount would get used. And the credit is only good for 6 months.
Well, I’m not going to be able to travel to multiple hostels over the next 6 months, I have a job to come back to.
Currently in despite with my bank, could take a maximum of 90 days plus the 60 days that we’ve already been disputing.
I strongly recommend using them as a search engine but don’t use them to book your room.
