Deeply Disappointed – £10,000 Voucher Refused
I’m writing this review out of sheer frustration after months of trying to resolve an issue with Hotelgift’s customer service. In 2021, I purchased a £10,000 gift card believing it would be a flexible and secure way to book travel in the future. I recently attempted to use the voucher, only to be told it had expired due to a two-year validity policy I was never clearly made aware of.
Despite my repeated efforts to reach a fair resolution—including offering to use the entire balance within a short time frame—Hotelgift refused to reinstate or even partially honor the voucher. Their customer service, while polite, hid behind rigid policy and refused to acknowledge the exceptional nature of my situation. Even after escalating the matter to the CEO, they stood by their stance that the £10,000 is now “null.”
I was not asking for a refund—only the opportunity to use what I paid for. For a company to accept such a large sum and then completely deny the customer any value or goodwill is, in my opinion, unethical and deeply disappointing.
I would caution anyone considering purchasing a high-value voucher from this company. If anything goes wrong or time lapses—even by a short period—you may be left with nothing, regardless of how much you spent. A reputable company should protect its customers, especially in exceptional cases like this.
I truly expected better.
