My current account was with HSBC ( formerly Midlands Bank ) for 30 years. I was disappointed with their online banking and also I didn't like it when they removed accounts from my payee list without my permission.
I called Santander to transfer the account. It was very easy. The transfer to Santander took only one week and all the direct debit arrangements from HSBC was transferred to Santander with no issues.
I suggest you all move to another bank rather than stay with HSBC.
