Blocked current account after acrimonious split. Promised 8 weeks to contact joint party, 8 mths later account is still blocked with a balance over £10k 'stolen by HSBC'. Larger Debit card payments get "declined" code to retailer but then succeed: this caused me to over pay HMRC tax by £10000. I never have these problems with other banks. HSBC complaint 1036501
