If I could give a zero star rating for this company, I would. My fault though, I didn't check the reviews first.
On Nov. 2/18 I ordered the "3D Planet Lamp." The site's photo of the lamp looked lovely and it appeared to be glass, which one would expect it to be for $59.95 USD.
It arrived on Nov. 29th, in very beat up packaging and scantily packaged at that. When I opened the box it came in, out spilled a few pieces of shredded fibre packing materials. The lamp itself appeared to be made of styrofoam and was powered by a USB cord. A super cheap looking remote control came with it, for changing the colours and effects. The remote did not even work at first, but after a few tries it suddenly seemed to work ok.
Anyway, I had ordered it as a gift for my elderly stepfather, a retired rocket scientist who spends most of his time in a livingroom chair, nowhere near a USB port.
So, I bought an adapter for it ($14.99 USD) and sent it to him, as there wasn't much point in sending it back.
With the item price, the adapter and the shipping, it cost me almost $130 CAD--$130 on something I wouldn't have even purchased had I known how ultra cheap the product actually looks and is. They wouldn't get more than $5-$10 CAD, tops, for it if they tried to sell it off a store shelf here.
Lesson learned: From here on in I will ALWAYS read a company's reviews before ordering from them!
