The lamp I ordered (grey dubose floor lamp) does not state that is self assembly, to the extent that you actually construct the shade itself- it comes as two pieces of material that you stick together and attach to the metal rings. The base is not straightforward either with tiny screws and excess wire that you have to feed through.
The instructions are absolutely woeful! Definitely a two person job and you probably need about an hour to figure it out and get it right (we did on our third attempt). Item is totally mis-sold in my view by iconic lights.
