During lockdown I have tried to support businesses. This is the first one to fail me. May 28, ordered online. IKEA emailed me a delivery date of May 31 between 9am-5pm. Morning of May 31 used email's "Track your order" link: delivery is being prepared. Used same link 10 pm: "being prepared." Never delivered.
June 1 used link again (twice): "An error occurred. It looks like we ran into a network problem, please try again. If you have any questions, please contact customer service." Phoned 1-888-888-4532; recording recounts IKEA's contactless delivery protocols; followed menu to "Check on delivery" where recording says they can't take any calls, use Track My Order on first page of website. This is the result: Service not available at the moment. Please try later. = I won't.
Only email option is cancellation. = I will.
Had IKEA stopped online sales during the shutdown, I would have been disappointed but supportive. Now I have to waste time trying to solve their mess and dealing with my credit card company. Cancellation page says shipping fees are non-refundable. If so charged, I will sue IKEA for reimbursement.
