I live on a main road with a lot of traffic noise. Additionally, living in the northeast, the winters can get pretty brutal I have had the inserts placed in the three living room windows (33 x 52) ea. The noise reduction has gone down noticeably and the main thing I picked up on was the surface temperature of the inserts compared to the surface temperature of windows without the inserts...HUGE difference when I placed my palm on the insert vs. the window at 6 below.
