The script I sent in is my first and is very important to me as it is based on personal family history. I sent it to a couple of friends and received very positive feedback. However I felt a more impartial view might help me move the story forward. Having attended the Script writing for beginners course run by Industrial Scripts and found that very informative, I chose them to review my script. The Pros The report was 5 pages long, the consultant had apparently added some extra pages in. It made some very important suggestions as to how I can ramp up the tension and drama in various scenes, suggestions on how I can improve the structure of a couple of scenes and so on. They also made suggestions that would improve the marketability of the film to a younger market. Once I have fully digested the report, I will work on ways I can implement some of the suggestions they made. The Con I paid extra to have my script assessed within a 2 week timescale. Unfortunately this deadlines was missed. I emailed the next day, apologies were made and the report was finished and sent to me the very next day, with a partial refund offered in compensation. The Conclusion As a first time screenwriter I was very nervous 'offering' my script up for wider reviewing, but have found the feedback very useful.
