I decided several years ago that I'd like to have my teeth whiter. They're not in bad shape but the bottom set are quite overcrowded and the top set are average at best. They are also quite small. I paid nearly £400 at my dentist and they made a set of impressions and I had some bleach that I had to wear overnight. Unfortunately having woken up several times with bad shooting pains in my teeth I kind of lost faith in the whole process and gave up. A couple of years later I tried one of those over-the-counter bleaching kits and it was an absolute disaster. Made my teeth super sensitive which continues to this day and I have to constantly use sensitive toothpaste. So when I started to have a look at Instasmile and have access to lots of videos on YouTube it really got my interest. I watched loads and loads of reaction videos and after a while I decided that I would give it a go. A friend of mine has just spent 15k on having a set of permanent veneers which is obviously out of my price range and in fact £300 for Instasmile started to look like a bargain. I eventually committed about 2 months ago and use the online site to order top and bottom set. The kit came very quickly and I watched the online tutorial video as I made my impressions. I thought my upper set looked a bit poor but the bottom set I was really pleased with so after posting it back with freepost I was quite upset when the bottom set were rejected. I'd like to stress here that this was down to my technique and not Instasmile's fault. No problem I thought I'll just have to order another. Anyway I did the second set and this time did two bottom set impressions but again both were rejected. I phoned them up and they promised to send me a third impression set free of charge and I had a very helpful and friendly operative talk me through the process in real time while I did it twice. I sent the Impressions off again and was really upset when both were rejected for a third time! But at no time did i feel i was getting anything other than excellent customer service from them and they offered me a free visit to their pop up clinic in Southampton which is fairly nearby so I had a day out and went there one sunny morning. Again the lady was extremely helpful and friendly and we went through about 3 or 4 impression sets until she thought we definitely had a good one. She told me to wait until the next afternoon to get the result. This time it was a success! I was given a date about 3 weeks hence to expect the teeth back. 4 days before this date I was actually emailed to say they were ready and on their way so I was super excited. When I got them I was pretty nervous as I'd waited ages and gone through such a journey to get them and when I first put them in I was really disappointed. They looked way too big and white. I phoned up my mum and told her I've made a massive mistake but after about 20 minutes I had another look and I started to think actually they're not too big and they're not too white they look great! I took some selfies of them and sent them to family and friends and I got overwhelming positive results back. Exactly as I expected I had a bit of a lisp to begin with but after wearing them for about 3 days on and off that pretty much disappeared. Also I found that I'd actually forgotten I'd even got them in for whole stretches. They are really comfortable, the only problem I found was trying to get them out because they are so snuggly fitted to your real teeth that I did find it quite hard to get them out but I've got a better technique now. I've also found that it is definitely possible to eat with them as long as it's something that doesn't require cutting through with your teeth for instance a cheese or tuna sandwich is fine, though I don't eat with them much as i want them to last longer. I have to say that they have been made brilliantly. The gum line is absolutely fantastic and there's no way you would think they were anything other than my actual teeth and I'm so pleased with them and very happy to recommend them to anybody as long as you're willing to realise that you do have to make some compromises but having saved about 14 1/2 thousand pounds I think that compromise is worth it.
