Interparcel make it very easy to arrange a courier at a great price. You enter the weight and dimensions of your parcel, the destination and collection addresses (which can be approximate), and then from a list of price quotes you can choose the carrier, the speed, and whether you want additional insurance cover. Only quibble is that the range of collection times is rather wide, and you can't tell them reception is closed for a lunch hour!
