I have used Interparcel for several years and my experience is that the service is generally good. However, I sent a package last year using TNT (via Interparcel) ? which were presentation boards for the 2013 Design & Art Director's (D&AD) Annual Design Awards competition, but unfortunately these were badly damaged in transit. D&AD notified me that the presentation boards had arrived badly damaged and requested a replacement set, which cost a further ?42, plus redelivery costs and VAT. I submitted a claim to Interparcel for the damaged boards and was asked to supply photographic evidence of the damaged package, together with the invoice for producing a replacement set of presentation boards. D&AD were unable to supply me with photographic evidence because they had disposed of the damaged boards, however, they did send a letter confirming that the boards had arrived badly damaged. I sent the letter from D&AD, together with the copy invoice to Interparcel ? and photographs of the replacement item and packaging, but they insisted on photographic evidence of the damaged boards in order to consider the claim. I pointed out this also relies on the recipients (individuals or businesses) to have a camera ? not all would. My claim for compensation was genuine and although I was unable to supply photographic evidence of the damaged boards, my claim was supported by good evidence. I found Interparcel's intransigence very frustrating indeed! Despite the exchange of numerous e-mails, they did not compensate me for the cost of replacing the presentation boards. Because of this, my experience of Interparcel's service is very mixed.
