I've never worked directly with a translation company before, and my experience was less than stellar. Upfront customer service was very responsive and cost was 20-30% lower than a competing bid, so I moved forward based on that and a recommendation from a colleague... But: Translation was delivered two days later than promised, a few lines of language were not translated and then took another 24 hours for that to get fixed. The translation was delivered in European Spanish instead of Southern CA/Latin Spanish as requested, so my client's internal Spanish speaking proofreaders had to adjust some language to bring it more in line with their audience. Next time I will try the competitor and see if things go better. Might be worth the extra $46.
