I phoned up initially as You have to pay for this service and I wanted reassurance. The lady I spoke to said that she had never known a code not work. I went ahead on the website, got the code immediately, entered it into the radio and it worked. Prior to this, because I'm a stingy git, I tried a website that offered this service for free. Waste of time. Got a totally different code which didn't work. So guess what - there's no such thing as a free lunch.
