I shipped a brand new Philips coffee machine worth €500, including insurance. Unfortunately, UPS lost my package — which can happen. At first, I wasn’t too worried since I had taken out insurance. Their communication was decent (which is why I still gave 2 stars), but it took them 2–3 weeks before they officially confirmed the package was lost. The real problem came with the insurance. I was told I had to file a claim within 6 days of their first email stating the package might be lost. They did mention this in that email, but I overlooked it — my mistake. Still, I find this rule unreasonable. What’s the point of insurance if you only have 2 days to act, long before the loss is even confirmed? In my case, UPS continued investigating for weeks, yet the deadline for my claim had already expired. That simply doesn’t feel fair. For anyone shipping high-value products, I CANNOT recommend this company under these conditions.
