Same as so many others here. My husband—long time Peterman enthusiast— ordered a dress for me as a gift. Paid for expedited shipping. Card charged immediately. No shipping confirmation. Finally several days in, he called them; oh, item not in stock. Refund? Well, he seems to be having trouble getting one. The item is still listed on the website as if it were in stock. Sooo much wrong here, one has to wonder. Why do they charge before item ships? Why no notification item is not in stock? Why are out of stock items still listed on the site? Where is the refund— which ought never to have been charged in the first place, since the item evidently was not in stock when he ordered it? This all has the smell of a giant scam. Whatever Peterman might have been in their “Seinfeld” heyday, this is not the same company and should be avoided.
