I first used the DAV as my representative. Ten percent each for Hearing, Tinnitus, and some 'Jungle Rot' on my feet (30% total)- Then it seemed that they forgot about me. My knees were my most concerning issue, from an injury while I was in the Marines. I wrote my own NOD's (Notice of Disagreement's) and kept my claim alive for years. On my own I got to 70%. Stuck at that rate after 15 years, it was quite obvious that I didn't have the Knowledge, Skill, and Ability to move my disability rating any higher - even with my Back and Hips added on as secondary claims. After signing on with Jan Dils, in short order my rate went to 80%, then 90%, then at 100%. Early on Jan Dils reopened a TDIU claim. Apparently they chased down some details that resulted in that claim being approved just weeks ago and backdated to 2006. The entire staff stays on top of your claim, and any time I had a question they got back to me no later than the next day. If everything involved with the VA moved as fast as the staff at Jan Dils does, there probably wouldn't be any backlogs at the VA.
