On November 16, 2023, I experienced a disappointing service with Just Eat. My order of a "Whole Chicken Meal" was incomplete, missing items like the Tango Orange Drink, Piri Piri Salt, and Sweet Chilli Dip, which was initially frustrating.
The situation worsened during the delivery. My Ring.com camera recorded the delivery individual making unacceptable and offensive comments towards me, labelling me as "crazy" and a "liar" following the disclosure of my disability. Such behaviour is not only unprofessional but also potentially contravenes the UK's Equality Act 2010 (Equality Act 2010, c.15), designed to prevent disability-based discrimination, and could be seen as defamatory under the Defamation Act 2013, which aims to protect individuals from statements causing serious harm to reputation.
Despite raising this issue with Just Eat and lodging a formal complaint, their response indicated an unwillingness to address these serious concerns. This non-action is deeply troubling and reflects negatively on Just Eat’s commitment to customer rights and ethical standards in business practice.
