While waiting, I noticed a staff member happily assisting another customer by carrying four plates to her car. However, when I requested similar help, he appeared reluctant and declined. When I asked why he was unwilling to assist me, he responded that the customer he helped was alone. I found this reasoning concerning, as I was also struggling with a large, heavy item.
When I pointed out that his response was inappropriate, he chose to ignore me rather than engage respectfully. This experience left me feeling uncomfortable and wondering whether gender or other biases might have influenced his behavior.
