On August 6th patrol GF164. Job number 27203611/1. Mechanic arrived and investigated failure to start problem on my Jaguar. He was very polite but after lots of swapping fuses and banging top of fuel pump housing advised pump ceased. At no.time did he check to see if power was actually reaching the pump. He removed leads from both points on pump and fuel gauge and as I say banged the top of the pump housing. On arrival the fuel gauge was operational. Now I find it is not. I don't know if he reconnected supply or not. I now have to pay for someone to come and check wether supplies are going to both pump and fuel gauge and then if necessary arrange for the car to be transported to a garage if it cannot be fixed at home. Green Flag service is usually very good but this did not come up to scratch.
