I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because I found their complementary resume critique to be useful. However, overall, I'm disappointed with the Ladders because they failed to advertise that their "apply for me" chrome plug-in is only good for 50 job applications per month. I purchased a three month subscription thinking, "Great! This is going to free up so much time to focus on other tasks, now that I don't have to manually enter details into every individual Workday, etc. page." To me, that made it worth the money, even though the Ladders' native job search portal is woefully behind, often serving up "new" openings for jobs that have already closed. Imagine how frustrated I was to find out I had used up all my month's applications in only a couple of days! When I received the message from them that I was out of "apply for me" credits, I sent them a note through their help portal explaining that I wasn't aware there was a limit. I asked if they could reset me, explaining that I would be more selective on who I applied through them over the rest of my subscription. They responded, informing me of the details of their 50 application limit, and asking if they could do anything for me. I asked for a refund, to which they responded: Monica Toribio (Ladders) May 17, 2024, 4:38 PM EDT Hi Leslea, Thank you for writing back! The Apply4Me is an added benefit to your Premium feature designed to streamline your job application process and help you save valuable time. As advertised on both the Apply4me page and on the member help page, you can submit up to 50 applications per month cycle. (Unsuccessful applications are not counted against your limit). Even if you've used all your application tokens, you can still apply independently by clicking the "Apply" button on Job Description pages. We understand that you've already used 50 of your application submissions, which cannot be retracted. Your insights are incredibly valuable, and I want to assure you that we take them seriously. While we regret that we cannot offer a full refund for your payment, we want to extend two options for your consideration: Shorten Your Plan to 1 Month: We can shorten your plan and refund the difference so that you’ve only paid $49.97 for a 1-month membership. Plus, apply a $49 discount on your next renewal so you will only be charged $0.97 on June 15, 2024. OR Keep Your 3 Month Membership: If you decide to keep your 3 Month membership, we can offer you a $50 discount for the next renewal. Please let me know if there is anything else we can help with! Regards, Monica‍ Toribio Customer Experience Advocate 866-800-4640 I replied that had it been advertised, then I would have seen it. I received this response: Monica Toribio (Ladders) May 17, 2024, 4:52 PM EDT Hi Leslea, Thank you for writing back! The limit is advertised on the same page where you answered the 18 questions for Apply4me: {trustpilot does not allow links} We have a dedicated team of real humans that manually fills out your application, and we have successfully submitted 50 of them. We value your membership and are dedicated to resolving any issues you may have encountered with our service. If there are specific issues behind your request, we'd like to address them directly for a satisfactory solution. Please let me know if there is anything else we can help with! Regards, Monica‍ Toribio Customer Experience Advocate 866-800-4640 If you click on the link Monica sent, you will not see the number "fifty" or "50" anywhere on it. We all know that numbers jump off the page at us. If you go out of your way to search for where they might have a limit on applications, then you will find it hidden in the middle of their FAQ, but I do not make it a habit of looking into limits of a program before I buy it. I assume when someone is selling a service such as a plug-in for my browser, there is going to be clearly advertised limits to it, if they exist at all. I responded to Monica's email by attaching screen shots of the page she sent me to, asking her to show me where exactly it says "fifty" or "50" on that page. That was three days ago and I did not receive a reply. Upon reflection, I believe I made a reasonable request for a one-time reset, and I'm disappointed that I have to write this review (and copy it to other sites) to warn others off. I'm not out a lot of money for this subscription, but I am out so much TIME that they dishonestly promised. As most people know, a job search is an ongoing project, and you need to stay on it--not do it in a burst of 50 applications and then wait a month. I would be amenable to either a full refund, or a reset of this month's "apply for me" credits. I would encourage this website to make it impossible to miss that there is a 50-application limit on their plug-in, if they want to grow their business and receive positive reviews.
