This review is only based on the trade-in service with laptopsdirect. I had a horrible horrible experience with this company (and horrible twice is not a typo). I will never deal with them again and I recommend to stay away from them.
I decided to trade-in my old laptop so that I can buy a new one. All details asked on the website including CPU, RAM, Graphics card, serial number etc. were provided and I was given a valuation of £204. When I posted the laptop they reduced the valuation to £69 citing a few scuffs and they don’t like the processor. I decided not to buy a new laptop and asked for my old laptop to be returned. My laptop was returned after a month and that too after several phone calls and emails. When I received the laptop it was without the charger I had sent and it had stopped working (I wonder if they removed some parts). The fan enclosure was damaged too. The only response I received was that they will investigate what happened. The fools at laptopsdirect left me without a laptop for a long time which affected my work significantly but no compensation was offered. They advertise that they will pay the full quotation value if the laptop is damaged while it is with them but not a single penny was offered. I strongly recommend to stay away from such a rubbish business.... I am sure they will pay the loss they have caused me one way or another.
