I’ve used Love Holidays a number of times without issue, but my recent experience has been an absolute nightmare. I booked a holiday quickly based on a marketing “payday deal” and later realized that the hotel had very poor reviews. Within 3 hours, I attempted to change the hotel, only to find that the price shown on the website was £300 cheaper than what I was quoted in their portal. When I asked about this, I was told that new customers get a cheaper rate, and there was nothing they could do about it—I would have to pay an extra £600 if I wanted to change the hotel.
Frustrated, I decided to cancel the holiday just 18 hours after booking, which was 11.5 months before the travel date. Despite this, Love Holidays wanted to charge me £380 in non-refundable fees. This is even more outrageous considering I had cancelled the flight directly and secured a full refund for them.
The customer service team was polite but robotic, offering no real solutions. They kept pointing to obscure and ambiguous terms and conditions. When I asked to speak to the cancellations team by phone, they instead sent an email, giving me a 24-hour deadline to respond or else my cancellation request would be cancelled and I would be liable for the full cost of the holiday.
I feel completely scammed and let down by Love Holidays. I had to cancel my bank card just to ensure they couldn’t take any unauthorised payments. What should have been a simple booking has turned into a stressful ordeal. I won’t be using them again.
