Extremely Disappointed with Loveholidays
We booked a package oholiday through Loveholidays expecting the quality and service advertised, but unfortunately the reality was very different. Our accommodation was well below the standard expected and did not reflect the description or rating advertised at the time of booking, it was entirely unfit for purpose, unsafe, and unsanitary. We were unable to remain there and were forced to pay for emergency relocation to a safe and suitable hotel after Loveholidays did not resolve the unacceptable conditions at the original property.
We raised a formal complaint with evidence, only to be offered a mere 10% refund, which Loveholidays stated was a “full and final settlement.” This is frankly insulting given the level of disruption and stress caused.
Loveholidays is no longer ABTA-registered, which makes it harder for customers to seek fair redress. They rely on the Package Travel Regulations, but in our case, they have failed to apply them fairly or reasonably.
We are now left with no option but to escalate our complaint through Citizens Advice and potentially the Small Claims Court, as Loveholidays have refused to handle this fairly.
It is disappointing that a large company chooses not to look after its customers properly. I would urge anyone considering booking with Loveholidays to think carefully and research their lack of ABTA coverage before doing so.
