re: "Click&Collect". Generally staff seem totally unaware of data protection regulations, they continually ask the customer for both name as well as their postcode before collection, & as usually there is a queue, we then have to share our personal details, often repeatedly, & often in a loud voice. Wrote 3 times to Executive team, each time same data protection member replied, in her first communication "We do not believe we are in breach of regulation"... "If you prefer, you are welcome to ask for a quiet location in store for you to disclose your information" despite her position, she was evidently unsure re: regulation breaches. Second communication states, "in store should also be able to confirm this with the ORDER NUMBER and ONE other piece of information in order to identify you, such as your name or postcode" so if this is M&S protocol WHY is it not followed in all stores?? Her final advice to me was "If you would prefer not to disclose your name or post code in store, we offer a home delivery service which may better suit your needs." One may well query, as M&S appear to have an in-house D.P. team in place, why "all" their D.P. "protocol" is not clearly posted in the "Click & Collect" area for all customers to eventually consult.
