Most people assume this device is for the patient, but in reality it's for the caregiver. My 95 year old calls in once a month to test his device, and keep his peace of mind.
For me, in an emergency, and it's happened a new meet of a times, when my father has left his phone off the hook I've actually had central station contact him through the base station and let him know that his phone is off the hook and his son is trying to reach him. You can't get better service than that.
