Years ago, I purchased a stand alone alert system for my mom that relied on the phone line in her home. It would notify me first if an event occurred, and if I did not respond, it would call 911. She thankfully did not have a serious event in the time she had it. This past November, it failed and we decided it was time upgrade to a better system since she was getting older ( she's 97 now) and still living in her home. After doing some research and reading several reviews, we decided on Mobil Help. We have been very pleased with our choice! As her son, I helped her sign up and get the system which was very straightforward and simple. The representative I spoke with was very personable and extremely helpful answering all my questions. We opted for the added cost "Fall Detection" pendant, which is motion sensitive and sends an alert if the person has fallen and cannot respond. After receiving the equipment, set up and activation took only minutes. We did find some things about the system that we found frustrating. My mom is very short and the cord that was supplied was too long and difficult to adjust to the right length. After having it in operation for about a week, we found the most problematic thing was the pendant. At first, she was wearing it too long and as it swung around, or got hit, it would send an alert and we would get a call that an event had occurred. These were false alarms, and were cancelled. After calling to ask why this was happening, I was told she needed to wear it shorter to prevent this. Well, she had to devise her own cord to make it shorter, but it did not prevent the false alarms. The last time it happened, she had taken off the pendant and placed it on the table, and got a call. This type of pendant is VERY sensitive to movement, and is not right for everyone. Once again ,I called their customer service and explained the situation and asked if we could go to the standard pendant to eliminate this issue. Their customer service is awesome! You talk to a real person right away, and our issue was resolved in no time, a new pendant mailed out, plus the the additional charge for the first pendant was credited back! I have been very impressed with how they have handled our issues, and made every effort to make it right.
