Ended up with a good deal via Mobiles.co.uk , but mainly through my own research. Mobiles.co.uk + other suppliers phoned up (usually at an inconvenient time) wanting to offer their 'good deal' as my contract had come to an end, but none would put their deal down on an email so I could compare their offers when I had time to sit down and review them. Only by going through the website and looking myself did I find the 'good deal' which ends up me paying a lot less than if I had gone by the original offers from the salesmen! When the Mobiles.co.uk salesman phoned back he did go looking on their website and found the deal, which he wasn't aware of before! Moral:- do your own research beforehand and only if they can better the deal, take the salesman's offer! Mode of operation should be: 1) Salesman make initial call with suggestions based on an initial discussion, and be prepared to put their thoughts / suggestions in an email. 2) Let the customer review the deals and compare to other 'website deals' when they have time. 3) Salesman make follow-up call to discuss and advise on the deals/plans and finalise the choice and sale.
