I entered all my phone details including the carrier and shortly received a message saying o had got it wrong but they had changed it for me. They couldn't get an unlock code from the carrier but managed to get one from the phone manufacturer. I was informed throughout the process of what was going on. Once I received the unlock codes everything went perfectly. They even provided a step by step guide on what to do to unlock the phone.
