Kristen Dotti
I was misled by the product description that states, "Throws are made of a 4 oz. soft knit polyester material that is both light-weight and durable." The online ad had three weights listed: 4 oz, 6 oz, and 3 lbs. Because I was purchasing this product specifically because it was advertised to be lighter in weight than the one I already have, I confirmed the actual weight by phone with a sales representative, Eric. I told Eric the weight was critical because I have had back surgery and every oz in my suitcase impacts me. When Eric confirmed the 4 oz weight of the table throw, I assumed the 3 lb shipping weight was due to the box and packing materials and went ahead with my order. When the product showed up it was beautifully printed, but it more weighs more than 4 POUNDS, not 4 ounces. Upon questioning the same rep by email, Eric told me, "I apologize if I mislead you. It wasn't until your email I was taught that the fabric is measured in "paper weight" which is 4oz and that isn't the actual product weight." Clearly a misunderstanding for us both. And yet, when I was contacted by Jarrett the customer service agent, what could have been a $150 reimbursement was disapointingly a discussion of defense. Jarrett did not think the company has any responsibility for their online wording or the inaccurate/lack of knowledge in their sales representatives. Too bad. There are so many companies out there competing in the market of trade show displays, it would have been nice if MOD could distinguish itself from the pack by having a stellar reputation for customer satisfaction.
