I scheduled a 2-hour drive from Kanchanaburi City to Bangkok in Thailand (about 2 hours) for $65. My departure was 11 AM but, later, I found out that the driver left Bangkok at 6 AM to avoid traffic and waited outside my hotel from 8 AM - 11 AM. It was a nice SUV with leather seats and air conditioning. The driver was pleasant and willing to talk if I wanted but I mostly just rested. He drove me all the way to my Bangkok hotel and I gave him a $9 tip.
