I traded over $7,000 of Sony cameras and lenses for a roughly equivalent amount of Nikon equipment, including a "like new" Nikon Z8 body. After receiving the Z8 (which came in the box), I attempted to register it with Nikon Professional Services and was told by NPS that the Z8 was not eligible as it was not a U.S. body. MPB did not disclose this fact anywhere on their website or before shipping the Z8. When I contacted their customer service (I know how to talk to a real person through their chatbot), they said a customer must ask for that information before the item is shipped. MPB takes photos of all items they sell, but they can't be bothered to check the origin of the equipment they sell. I asked for some compensation for their failure to disclose the origin of the Z8 adequately; all they would offer instead was to return the Z8 for a refund. MPB demonstrates inferior customer service and is guilty of deceptive trade practices for failing to disclose essential information about the equipment they sell or trade. A copy of this complaint is being filed with the Better Business Bureau, the New York State Attorney General, and the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs.
