“I've mpb.com for several DSLR camera purchases and I have been very pleased with the entire transaction process. Nice selection of models, very fair trade in process, very competitive prices, and I feel very confident of the product that I am going to receive has been fully vetted.”
“Sold my entire Canon system and purchased a Fujifilm 50-140mm f2.8, X-T5 body, 1.4x tele-converter, Sigma 12mm f1.4. Fair pricing all around and legit condition ratings. Couldn’t be happier. This allowed me to easily add to the new Fujifilm items I recently purchased.”
“Now had two very good experiences trading up and getting a very good value on my trade in as well as a really good price on a new lens. Trade in was so easy. Turnaround was quick and I had new gear in days. Great job!”
“super easy, decent quote, took about a week to turn my lens in, and get my new one. also shoutout klarna for letting me split it in 4, just checkout through their app through mpb website”
“MPB had exactly the camera I needed and offered a trade value that was reasonable. They took care of the shipping process, and everything happened quickly and easily.”
“Was very pleased with the quote for what I had and what I bought. It is better than what some of the big name online camera stores give you for used equipment. Learned about MPB from Cameralabs who review camera equipment on a regular. Highly recommend Cameralabs.”
“MPB has a great selection and awesome prices. I have bought from them numerous times and have always been satisfied. When trading or selling I always end up getting more money than originally quoted. I also love the fact that they post a picture of the actual item.”
“Have traded with MPB before and have always had a good experience each. They have given a fair trade value for used equipment. The transaction process, communications and shipping have always been smooth and reliable. Highly recommend.”
“Honestly, the whole exchange with MPB was perfect. They paid for the shipping, I sent back my cameras, they assessed the value at even more than I had expected, and I received the camera that I was trading in for the next week. I am so impressed with how clean the whole process was. And the customer service are super responsive too. I love my new X100F :)”
“For the second time, MPB has rated the gear I was trading in higher than I rated it. I called my gear "Good" for a camera body, a lens and 4 additional OEM batteries. Upon receiving the equipment, MPB rated everything as "Excellent" and increased my trade credit commensurately. That kind of honestly is much appreciated. They could have gone with my assessment, but didn't, saving me money on the camera I was ordering from them.”
“I rarely post things like this, but this experience deserves transparency.
I recently filed a claim with MPB after sending a high-value parcel via DPD. The parcel arrived with items missing, resulting in a loss of £2,500. MPB have declined responsibility, stating there were “no signs of tampering” — despite acknowledging damage to the outer packaging.
What’s concerning is the complete lack of verifiable evidence provided to support that conclusion.
No CCTV footage from DPD handling points.
No parcel weight logs across transit.
No clear chain of custody.
Without this, it’s difficult to understand how either party can confidently determine where the loss occurred — yet the outcome is that the customer is left absorbing the loss.
A “small tear” in packaging does not rule out interference, full opening and then repackaging, especially without supporting data like consistent weight tracking throughout the parcel’s journey.
I’ve formally requested full disclosure of the investigation evidence. Until that’s provided, this decision feels unsupported.
Based on this experience, I would strongly advise against using MPB’s services for sending high-value items, as the protection and accountability in cases like this appear insufficient and do not exist.
If you’re sending anything valuable, I strongly recommend:
– Photographing and weighing your parcel before dispatch
– Keeping detailed records
– Being cautious about relying on courier liability processes
This isn’t just frustrating — it raises serious concerns about accountability between MPB and DPD when something goes wrong.
If anyone has advice on escalation routes or has dealt with a similar situation, I’d appreciate hearing your experience.”
“though i always feel like i can get a little more selling on marketplace or offerup and that an Like New condition is priced closely to a sale item on B&H, i do have to say that the claim of “less hassle” was worth the $150 or so that i could probably waited out on and i bought the extra warranty but i felt like the camera i got was brand new”
“Sold all my canon equipment from over the years and bought “excellent” rated updated gear on a trade and had an excellent experience selling my old friend”
“Sent in an as-new BOXED Sony camera for a trade-in. Had previously had a large amount of email communication with their staff to be absolutely sure they had quoted on the correct camera and lenses before they quoted £105 and I sent the equipment to them for inspection. When it arrived, they decided they only wanted to buy half the kit and at a significantly lower price (approximately £40) because what they had quoted for was not what I supplied. Despite this being their own error they were unwilling to honour the quote so I requested it be returned.
The camera arrived back. They had disposed of my original box, manual, software CD and memory card and sent the kit back in a plain box. This significantly devalues my ability to resell the equipment at a maximised price!
The company only ever offer empty words of apology, hide behind terms and conditions you're never going to read and the "compensation" they offer is £10 off spending over £99 with them which I am never, ever going to want to do.
Shady and frankly dishonest business practices, no care for customers or their belongings and treat your kit as theirs to do what they want with despite it not being theirs.
I would actively discourage anyone from dealing with MPB. I engaged with them on a recommendation and I dearly wish I'd never done so. Disappointed, angry and taken advantage of, that's my experience.”
