I ordered a lens from MPB that was not as advertised and faulty, I had hoped to use the no fuss return policy but it was anything but. It took from February to May to get my money back On 3 separate occasions I had to wait in for a courier that was never booked nor showed up. I then had to post it back myself, which cost £16. I finally received my refund and £10 towards the postage, not the full amount. Overall pretty disappointing for what should’ve been a simple return and keeping £6 after all that hassle just goes to show how awkward they can be. I would not recommend purchasing from here

I rarely post things like this, but this experience deserves transparency. I recently filed a claim with MPB after sending a high-value parcel via DPD. The parcel arrived with items missing, resulting in a loss of £2,500. MPB have declined responsibility, stating there were “no signs of tampering” — despite acknowledging damage to the outer packaging. What’s concerning is the complete lack of verifiable evidence provided to support that conclusion. No CCTV footage from DPD handling points. No parcel weight logs across transit. No clear chain of custody. Without this, it’s difficult to understand how either party can confidently determine where the loss occurred — yet the outcome is that the customer is left absorbing the loss. A “small tear” in packaging does not rule out interference, full opening and then repackaging, especially without supporting data like consistent weight tracking throughout the parcel’s journey. I’ve formally requested full disclosure of the investigation evidence. Until that’s provided, this decision feels unsupported. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise against using MPB’s services for sending high-value items, as the protection and accountability in cases like this appear insufficient and do not exist. If you’re sending anything valuable, I strongly recommend: – Photographing and weighing your parcel before dispatch – Keeping detailed records – Being cautious about relying on courier liability processes This isn’t just frustrating — it raises serious concerns about accountability between MPB and DPD when something goes wrong. If anyone has advice on escalation routes or has dealt with a similar situation, I’d appreciate hearing your experience.

Sent in an as-new BOXED Sony camera for a trade-in. Had previously had a large amount of email communication with their staff to be absolutely sure they had quoted on the correct camera and lenses before they quoted £105 and I sent the equipment to them for inspection. When it arrived, they decided they only wanted to buy half the kit and at a significantly lower price (approximately £40) because what they had quoted for was not what I supplied. Despite this being their own error they were unwilling to honour the quote so I requested it be returned. The camera arrived back. They had disposed of my original box, manual, software CD and memory card and sent the kit back in a plain box. This significantly devalues my ability to resell the equipment at a maximised price! The company only ever offer empty words of apology, hide behind terms and conditions you're never going to read and the "compensation" they offer is £10 off spending over £99 with them which I am never, ever going to want to do. Shady and frankly dishonest business practices, no care for customers or their belongings and treat your kit as theirs to do what they want with despite it not being theirs. I would actively discourage anyone from dealing with MPB. I engaged with them on a recommendation and I dearly wish I'd never done so. Disappointed, angry and taken advantage of, that's my experience.

I used to leave positive reviews for MPB because my past experiences were good. But something clearly isn’t right anymore. My latest purchase was a tripod in a shameful condition => completely unusable. It took about 30 seconds to realise it belonged in the bin. This is not about expecting a gear out of the box. It’s about basic quality control for an article sold as good. Any minimal inspection should have caught this immediately. To be fair, the support team remains responsive and understanding. But there is clearly a serious issue somewhere in the equipment verification chain. Items in this condition simply should never be listed for sale. At this point, the myth of the impeccably run German operation has unfortunately started to fade. ________________ I genuinely believed the situation had been resolved after my exchange with customer service. They acknowledged the issue and promised compensation. Unfortunately, they later stepped back from their own commitment without explanation. This clearly shows that their below response was simply E-reputation management rather than a genuine resolution. Duly noted. Customers should not rely on such commitments.

Any time of year, it will take just as long, I have tried this at least five times. UPDATE : still didn't get the quote , has been 7 days , 5 business days,,,, will be six tomorrow AND OUTSIDE THE " WINDOW".

I would not recommend using these to sell your kit. I got a quote to sell my Nikon, was very happy with it, sent it off. When they got the camera they then offered 50% less than they quoted. I obviously took the camera back. When I got it back, both the battery I sent and the camera case were missing. I complained about this and they said' its in their terms and conditions' - no offer of a replacement or refund to cover me buying the replacement battery or case, just a blank refusal to do anything about it. They have basically stolen from me! It's theft as they have not returned what I sent them, no matter what their excuse. Terrible company. avoid!!!

Intrusive Security Measures. This company requires an uploaded photo ID before they will process an order. No other company I've ever dealt with does that. They have no idea if the ID is real or not. No chance I'll ever do business giving that kind of information to a company in order just to buy a camera lens.

Scammers - Avoid at all cost if I where you. I bought a camera with a shutter count of 800 and received a camera with a shutter count of 20,800. I returned everything I received including every last scrap of packaging to be accused of not returning the charger. To get my refund I had to buy a replacement charger and send that to them also. From other reviews some are winners but there are plenty of losers if you have a look around, it's your choice, Do You Feel Lucky Punk.

I echo every positive comment in previous reviews. MPB always fair minded in their valuation transactions, very responsive when dealing with enquiries or issues and a company you feel you can trust implicitly.

I am still chasing the company to give me feedback after a whole month of waiting and no news. I did send 2 Hasselblad lenses and the company did receive the lenses. Horrible horrible service, no support at all. Very very bad experience!

Unfortunately I have been waiting for over 15 days for confirmation that my two Hasselblad lenses, which have already been collected by DHL, have arrived at MPB. Apparently the package is still held at customs and MPB is supposed to clear it according to DHL. So far I’ve only had hassle. My email was never answered. If I hadn’t seen how many reviews MPB has, I would have thought the company is a scam. Addendum 1: Many thanks for the quick reply on Trustpilot. If I had received such a quick answer to my email, I wouldn’t have written the review. I attached to the package all the documents I received automatically by email for the shipment. Addendum 2 (23.09.25): Since I still haven’t heard anything from MPB at all — no email, no confirmation, no phone calls, nothing — I called the support phone number myself. I have never experienced such an unmotivated, even rude, support on the phone. An absolute disaster. When I asked the gentleman for his last name, he refused to give it. I also did not receive a confirmation email from the polite gentleman. It’s outrageous how customers are treated here. I have absolutely nothing to prove that my lenses were picked up. STAY AWAY FROM MPB!!!!

I had a quote for £137 for trading in a Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 55-300mm f/4.5- 5.6 G VR lense which I described as “Excellent” condition. They received the lense today and agreed it was actually “Like New” but they are now only offering me £99, with no explanation available from customer services as to why my original quote is not being honoured. It took me a lot of effort to carefully package and send the kit and now I’m going to have to have it returned and sell it elsewhere. What a waste of time.

Hi Dana, Thanks for your message. I’ve spoken directly with FedEx, and they’ve confirmed that the only party who can file a lost item claim is the shipper, unless the recipient has the account number — which I don’t. They also confirmed that the “Dispute Delivery” form is not sufficient for a lost item claim and that MPB must file the formal claim. At this point, I feel completely stuck and unsupported. As the merchant and shipper, MPB is responsible for ensuring the product is delivered or refunded, and I kindly ask that you escalate this matter immediately. I would like a resolution or confirmation that MPB is initiating a claim on my behalf. Please let me know how you intend to proceed. I really hope we can resolve this quickly and fairly. Best, Summer Twist

I traded over $7,000 of Sony cameras and lenses for a roughly equivalent amount of Nikon equipment, including a "like new" Nikon Z8 body. After receiving the Z8 (which came in the box), I attempted to register it with Nikon Professional Services and was told by NPS that the Z8 was not eligible as it was not a U.S. body. MPB did not disclose this fact anywhere on their website or before shipping the Z8. When I contacted their customer service (I know how to talk to a real person through their chatbot), they said a customer must ask for that information before the item is shipped. MPB takes photos of all items they sell, but they can't be bothered to check the origin of the equipment they sell. I asked for some compensation for their failure to disclose the origin of the Z8 adequately; all they would offer instead was to return the Z8 for a refund. MPB demonstrates inferior customer service and is guilty of deceptive trade practices for failing to disclose essential information about the equipment they sell or trade. A copy of this complaint is being filed with the Better Business Bureau, the New York State Attorney General, and the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs.

My billing address is a P.O. Box and they only ship to the billing address but they won’t ship to a P.O. Box. Customer service was dismissive and they didn’t seem to care about the peculiar problem. They use FedEx but they won’t deliver to a FedEx office either. Very strange. Guess they don’t need my business, canceled the order.

I tried to sell 500 euro lens with it's original package (simply new lens/unpacked) and their bid was 170 euros. So... I think I will never open the site again. Pure waste of time.

Sent in a Canon Camera with Orginal strap, and lens, along with charger, battery, 2 x Compact Flash Cards, original manual, original software installation disc, original USB cable loom. Arrived at MPB on 16th April. Still hadn't been processed by 30th April. Was only processed when I chased them up - they quoted £90 less than promised due to the charging condition of the battery - this was too much of a reduction so I asked them to return the trade in and cancel the deal. On 3rd May I received back the camera with strap, the lens, the battery and charger. I did not receive back the Compact Flash cards, the manual, the installation disc or the cable loom. I queried this immediately and have repeatedly chased the company for a response. Since 8th May one of their customer service team has attempted to get a response from the companies trade in team. Today they finally sent me a form answer quoting their terms and conditions, essentially stating unless you have given a written list of all the none original accessories included with a trade in MPB reserves the right to throw it all away regardless or whether you accept the trade in or not. Considering most of the accessories they failed to return where originally supplied with the camera by Canon it still doesn't make sense. I was offered a £25 voucher off a future £100 purchase as some form of compensation - I have refused this since I no longer trust this company and certainly won't be spending money here in the future.

Never received the money they said they paid me within the 2 business days stated in their email. I double checked my banking information they requested to get paid. My bank has not received anything. I requested my camera back and never heard back from them.

Their warranty is worthless! Bought a teleconverter with debris inside that came loose (making it unusable) after a few weeks – no repair. MPB claims I should have discovered this within the first 14 days… No more purchases there!

They are using DHL who handed my lens to somebody else with false signature . AS a result I never received the item and never received a reimbursement and I lost 430 Euros . I do not recommend MPB, too risky
