You can get cheaper pods (generally poor) and you can pay a lot more. However, I have to say that I am impressed by the quality of the coffees (haven't tried the Double Shot yet) and found the flavours rounded and having the intensity that suits my taste. The chocolate is a particular treat.
Try 1 x tsp white sugar, l x lungo of chocolate and 1 x espresso of Intense coffee and stir like mad. For luxury, add a touch of double cream.
