Me and my husband decided that it was time to update some of our technology so we decided to shop around and see what deals we could find for our old stuff. I came across MusicMagpie who were offering the best deals around, and given that they offer a free collection and returns service it seemed a no brainer, unfortunately the no brainer is clearly the staff. Firstly, every email I have received from music magpie, including the delivery confirmation went straight into my inbox, however when it came to the notification email that a product had a revised price they happened to go into my spam, very common when reading reviews since if you do not respond in 4 days they will only pay the new offer and you will not receive your goods back. Secondly, I sent 7 items through, a few phones, a games console, an apple tv and a couple of iPads, so the first price drop was a 1yr old iPhone, bordering on brand new, no scratches other than minor glass wear and tear, nothing more, no dents, smashes and it's never been dropped not even from the sofa, so originally they offered me £250, but claim that the battery life was low so had the cheek to offer me £70 instead? they then knocked me down on 2 iPads, both quoted around £90 each, now knocked down to £9.50?! As the screen was lifting on 1 iPad and the headphone jack did not work on the other...well clearly the testers at music magpie are not subject to checks themselves since the iPad with the faulty headphone jack works perfectly fine and 100% plays music, i have wiggled the lead incase there is a slight connection error and nothing, works perfectly, so i'm guessing that the staff testing the sound were hard of hearing. All of these items were checked by apple and found to have no such issues before they left me and still have none of those issues now. Given that I was not knocked down on the price of the other products that had been dropped and damaged, and were 3+ years older, I find it funny how they only knocked me down on the most valuable products, especially given the mark ups they put on their products, they would have made near £300 on my 1yr old iPhone. Absolutely would not use them again and would certainly never buy anything from them, not even if they were the last people to go to! Disgusting company, just pleased I actually got my products back and the money for the stuff they did buy as others have not had such a great experience with that. Certainly not how I'd run a company, clearly not run by anyone with an ounce of pride in their work. They also send items back dirty. It's also become very apparent that any negative comments are being responded too with a generic response by music magpie and they are having them removed, since the response is the exact same to everybody i'm guessing they will not be doing much they just don't like the truth being online and people pointing out their failings.
