In general I like Newcastle airport. Improvements could be made to the long-stay parking, trolley parks, visible staffing, threatening unfriendly signage and pushing a luggage trolley up that hill to the terminal is not easy at my age. There should be also a kiosk manned by representatives of the airport instead of the anonymous backroom approach. Why are the border force people so miserable and stern, the machines do most of the work now so the job isn't exactly hard and as ex-forces, I have experienced cold wet checkpoints so I know. The baggage security staff are usually very efficient whilst remaining friendly and usually approachable. Has anyone considered having a little shop in the arrivals area selling milk, bread & eggs at 9 or 10 o'clock at night? After you've been away for a couple of weeks most people don't have any in the house when they get in late and they need a cuppa and a sandwich
