Self check in has more staff doing very little compared to previous system. It's like queuing in a pub to pull your own pint ! Security in departures friendly and efficient. Arrivals rude and slightly power crazed. Gate number not given soon enough, forced to stay in departure area without enough seats - had to sit on floor for an hour or spend more money in concession to find a seat. This appears to be a UK airport thing now , not just Newcastle but it's cynical and not a good customer experience. The car parking was fine , a bit too expensive but at least it's onsite and not gravel. Back again at the end of August wondering wether to bring some folding chairs.
