Very easy to get through the airport. Would give another star but for the point listed below.
Having to take shoes off at security is an annoyance. I have a resurfaced hip (metal) and travel quite a lot and Newcastle is the only airport where I need to remove shoes. It is also the only UK airport I currently use.
