When I used the car park in April on my return I was told there was number plate recognition now and I wouldn't need to go to in to the office again to have my ticket validated . On returning from holiday in May I duly went straight to the barrier and it didn't open . The guy on the tannoy said I must have messed up my booking and to go to the office ( grrrr) . With three cars behind me I had to reverse out of the queue and this was highly inconvenient and embarrassing . On arrival at the office the operative told me I would always need to go to the office as I have a 5 digit private plate and their technology can't cope with that. I have sent in a complaint asking why the first guy , who was looking at my plate on the booking couldn't have pointed this out in April and why has the airport not got the system that many small local car parks have for neet plate recognition . I have been waiting 6 days for a reply to my complaint and have chased it up , and so far silence . So yes, a GREAT CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE for someone who uses the car park about 6 times per year .
