If it's too good to be true..... ....it usually is. I ordered a camera and lens at a price considerably less than other online retailers, which was also advertised with next day delivery. A few hours after the order was made, I was telephoned and told that due to Covid-19 the next day delivery was not possible and it would now take 3-4 working days for delivery to be made. Couldn't really dispute that and so expected to receive the camera in 3-4 working days. On the 5th working day, still no camera or any communication from the company. I emailed them and requested some delivery info or a tracking number (as is promised on their website) to track the package. I received an email back informing me that the camera had arrived at their London depot (where from I wonder? I had assumed it was already on it's way to me from them) and was scheduled for collection by DHL that evening. However, still no tracking details were given for this. The following day I received another email to inform me that their warehouse had 'made a mistake' and before the item could be collected it was accidentally damaged and they had no other stock to send out. I was then offered the choice of a refund (at this point they have had in excess of £1,000 of my money in their account) or wait another week and they will order another one (obviously no guarantee that I would receive it then either, which would mean another week with my money in their account... hmmm....). The company have had the benefit of more than £1,000 pounds of my money in their account for a whole week. From just one customer. I would imagine if that were to happen to a lot of customers, that's quite a lot of money taken and held before eventually being returned. I am currently waiting to receive a refund, which until received, limits me from purchasing the camera elsewhere, meaning further inconvenience. Incidentally, their website states: "All orders placed before 2pm will be delivered the following day as per our promise to UK and most EU destinations." Just so you know, that is not true. Please make your own choice - I am merely communicating the facts of my experience with this company. I chose the refund as it's best to trust instinct, and when a business can take and hold your money for a week without doing or sending anything, and then you must wait further to receive that money back, I personally find that concerning. Not a good experience. Very inconvenient that they cannot supply what I was led to believe was in stock ready for despatch, then provide different excuses to the products whereabouts and ultimately not being able to supply, and then hold your money preventing a purchase from elsewhere. Definitely no Next Day and certainly no Deal. To be constructive to the business in question - For your own reputation, either provide a payment option to process the payment only when the goods are despatched (i.e like Amazon) or just be upfront with your customers and state that you are taking the money before being able to order and despatch the products yourself, which will add greatly to the lead times you advertise. This way your customer makes an informed decision and there are no surprises, inconvenience or unhappy customers.
