I have just emailed octopus energy for the 10th time. My bills were estimated because we're too busy to send readings then after they requested I made sure I sent them. I was in credit of £1500. The first bill Dec 2023 to March 2024 swiped away £750 then April readings sent to them they swiped away the last £750 to leave me in £14 debit. My April bill for gas was 4826.58 kWh & electric 1367.38 this for one month when 2 people live in the house and work 5 days a week and live off take out food and heat the house sparingly. Octopus have a default mode and think things are settled. so far refunded me small change for grossly over exaggerated estimated reading for gas but electric has been taken twice and no refund imminent. I am in credit only because they double my direct debit payment to line their pockets with. My contract ends September 2024 I'll definitely be switching.
