I phoned Octopus for help as my current tariff was ending and my call was answered very promptly by a young woman called Sammy. She explained the two different tariffs while I wrote it all down. I misunderstood several times but Sammy was very patient and she cheerfully went over it all again to make sure I had written it all down correctly. I was then able to decide which tariff to select and Sammy input it for me. Call centre staff at Octopus must know that customers can hear a smile in their voice and I certainly heard Sammy’s. As the call ended I was smiling too!
