Ticket Fulfillment Services and Ticketsales.com are both scams and not to be trusted and are apparently in cahoots with each other. I purchased 2 tickets on April 1st for a Sting concert at Ravinia online. The tickets were purchased through a company called Ticket Fulfillment Services LP. I thought this was the official website of Ravinia. I picked specific seats in the 5th row from the stage for $773.21 and I paid via PayPal. This was a pretty high price to pay for the tickets but I wanted to make sure to get “near front row” seats for this concert. At the time, there were a lot of tickets still available as the concert had recently been listed.
Unlike any other online order I have made, I did not get a confirmation email so I did not have records of the site they were purchased from. Then, on April 6th which was 5 days later, I sent an email to PayPal saying I did not receive a confirmation or Tickets and wanted to know if they knew how to receive a confirmation or the tickets. No response. I then found a phone number to contact them and was told that the event was selling tickets so far in advance that tickets were not yet printed and that I would receive them no later than June 11th. I still thought I was dealing directly with Ravinia and assumed that since it was a non-for-profit that they were just short staffed.
I did not receive the tickets by June 11th. I called them and was told they would be sent no later than June 28th and that if I had not received them, to call back. I called in July and was told they would be sent soon. I called in the beginning of August and was told they would be sent soon. I called August 21st and the tickets were emailed immediately. When I got the tickets, I found there were on the other side of the theater and were about 30 rows back. The tickets I received had a price of $136 apiece for the tickets that I paid $773 for.
I called them on August 22nd and told them the wrong tickets were sent. The lady I talked to said they would email me the correct tickets. I had not received the tickets by August 25th and I called again. This time the lady I talked to said they reserve the right to sell me tickets anywhere in the theater that they wanted and that I must not have seen the notice on their website. I explained that I selected specific seats on the website and that they were marked as taken as soon as I clicked on them. I also told her I would never have paid $800 for a pair of tickets in a theater that likely had a max price of 250 for seats in a non-first or second row and let them pick the seats for me. She wouldn’t budge and said their standard policy was to send tickets that “they” felt were comparable.
I go to a lot of concerts and events and would NEVER EVER EVER use them again and will warn everyone I know that these people are a scam. I noticed a couple of days ago that the venue, Rivinia, has a posting on their website warning people not to use any ticket sellers that were not Rivinia as they were likely scams. I should have dug into this company prior to the purchase, but I thought I was dealing with Rivinia’s actual ticket sellers.
