Open studio is a very good way to become acquainted or to perfect yourself in jazz up to a professional level. sometimes it's so good that it even becomes mildly intimidating...
I currently have a private teacher with whom I have been taking lessons for 22 years and can't take the open studio course because I don't have enough time to take it in addition to my regular lesson preparations and that would be a shame for the money spent. Maybe I'll join later when I have a little more time....
