“I’ve been a member of Open Studio for about two months now, and it has already been a very fun and inspiring experience. Before joining I had taken some lessons with a teacher and studied from books and random videos, but I often struggled to organize everything and make real sense of it. Open Studio helped me start putting the pieces together in a more practical way. Adam Maness is an incredible teacher. He has a way of explaining things that makes them feel clear and approachable. Even though it’s still early for me to fully measure my progress, I can already feel that I’m growing. It has also influenced the way I think about music in general, and that has helped me as a classical piano teacher too. The community is another big part of the experience. It’s motivating to see others learning, sharing, and evolving. You don’t feel alone in the process. I would recommend Open Studio Jazz to anyone, at any level. It’s a place where you can grow, stay inspired, and genuinely enjoy the journey.”

“ALL of these folks are to be thanked for putting together a reasonable, logical and intuitive curriculum for learning about jazz, whether you play one or multiple instruments. I started out on trumpet as a youth and have added classical piano as an adult. I played in all sorts of groups throughout my seventy years o n trumpet and loved jazz, yet never had the time (with a busy career) to teach myself or learn about jazz very well. But I loved it and wanted more. WELL, HERE IT IS!!!!! I joined up for a year and feel as though two months in, I have gotten my money back already! Adam and Peter, the brains for it all, have been great educators and the guys behind them an inspiration for me to simply want to do more! I have signed up and started 4 courses now, working through them as slowly as I want to extend my "retired" days of music practice and enjoyment. Music IS a lifelong endeavor and these guys help to make that realization pretty easy with a great program. Thanks so much! I'll be with you for the journey!”

“By far, OpenStudio is the best platform for learning jazz ever. I have tried for years to study and learn jazz but failed to do so. One month in and I now understand everything I read on jazz theory and watching Barry Harris on YouTube. The platform can be better but the lectures are spot on! Would like a take home assignment kind of course that will help enhance learning standards and repetition.”

“I’m really enjoying the journey thus far! Open Studio really inspires and challenges me in my musical journey. The artists, teachers, and resources are fantastic. As a teacher myself, I especially value the quality of the teaching. These days there is so much material available online that it can be easy to get lost in YouTube and jump from one thing to another. Having great teachers who can guide you, challenge you, and help you stay focused makes all the difference. “I really enjoy your courses, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to learn and gain knowledge through your platform. So far, my learning experience has been very positive, and the courses have been excellent. However, as I am a learner from mainland China, I sometimes face limitations due to language barriers and subtitle availability.
