“I’ve been a member of Open Studio for about two months now, and it has already been a very fun and inspiring experience. Before joining I had taken some lessons with a teacher and studied from books and random videos, but I often struggled to organize everything and make real sense of it. Open Studio helped me start putting the pieces together in a more practical way. Adam Maness is an incredible teacher. He has a way of explaining things that makes them feel clear and approachable. Even though it’s still early for me to fully measure my progress, I can already feel that I’m growing. It has also influenced the way I think about music in general, and that has helped me as a classical piano teacher too. The community is another big part of the experience. It’s motivating to see others learning, sharing, and evolving. You don’t feel alone in the process. I would recommend Open Studio Jazz to anyone, at any level. It’s a place where you can grow, stay inspired, and genuinely enjoy the journey.”

“The beginner course is perfect. (I have classical piano training, intermediate level). I had serious doubts about the practice sessions but you can repeat segments over and over until you "get it", and the drum/bass in the background is helpful, and the teachers are patient, encouraging, realistic expectations, "learn by failing" ie it is ok to make mistakes---I wish I had that mantra when I was growing up in an old school world of perfection by the tiger mom is the only way. And it is such a delightful world from the rigidness of classical music. I couldn't be happier.”

“"Juste merci!" as we say in France. After years of struggling to make progress at the piano and aftetr slowly starting to dislike the process of learning and seeing the instrument as a threat, I've finally started to enjoy music again. Open Studio is such a good platform to make tangible, quick and long-run progress on the (jazz) piano. I think it could be a tiny bit simpler and progressive in the way it is taught to make things more accessible. But all in all, this is a minor caveat compared to all the teachings I've learnt in a few weeks. Everything is musical, appliable to real life situations and will make any jazz musicians grow. As for future requests, a pop-oriented, blues or funk oriented class would be awesome: "jazz in the context of modern music", "jazz for modern procuders", "infuse your songs with gospel and blues". To get that extra flavor in a more general context, and not only applied to jazz. The best platform for jazz piano online, thanks Adam, Peter, Bob and the whole team! :)”
