Although I found the first day after surgery quite painful, the irritation had worn off after 24 hours. Even before then, though, I could tell that my eyesight was perfect. I still occasionally find myself trying to adjust non-existent glasses! I can now go out in the rain and go swimming with my kids and still see where I am going. I have recommended the surgery to everyone who has asked me about it - a little discomfort at the start is well worth it!
